Lake Karapiro Domain
Client: Waipa District Council
Lights: Waipa Park Lights 50W, 60W & 100W
Lake Karapiro Domain is blessed with beautiful scenery, it is also home to Rowing New Zealand & Canoe Racing New Zealand.
Some of New Zealand's elite athletes train on the lake every day, often as early as 4:00am. The lake also hosts dozens of regattas each year. All of which makes lighting important.
As part of Waipa District Council's renewal program for the Domain, and with a strong desire to reduce energy usage, we were selected to install our solar powered lights.
Key points to designing the lighting plan were ensuring safety & security for Domain users whilst being sensitive to neighbouring properties. Which meant reducing light pollution.
To address these points, the lights automatically turn on to "standby mode", 10% brightness when it becomes dark. As someone approaches the lights, they increase their output to 100%, then return to 10%.
The bonus is Council's expenditure for energy and its carbon footprint have decreased.

Waipa District Council Head Office
Client: Waipa District Council
Lights: Marvo Floodlights & Talos Series I
Quite a few meetings at Waipa DC are held after normal business hours. Council's main objective was to provide a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors who are on site after dark.
Our task was to illuminate the exterior of the building. This also lends itself to Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
Researchers note, good, well-placed lighting is seen as a key deterrent to potential intruders.
CPTED is endorsed by New Zealand Police.

Jacks Point, Coromandel Town
Client: Thames Coromandel District Council
Lights: Talos Premium Series I 20W
Council wanted a cost efficient solution to restoring lighting to Jacks Point boat ramp and carpark.
Our task was to remove the existing faulty 230VAC lights from the poles and replace them with our Talos Series I 20W lights.
In most cases our lights can be retrofitted to your existing poles.
Being located on the waterfront, the lights were manufactured especially with 316 stainless steel components. This prevents rust and corrosion.
Now boaties have resilient lighting all year round and no power bills for the Council.

Waste & Recycling Depot
Client: Northland Waste
Lights: Talos Premium Series I 30W
With multiple sites across the North Island, Northland Waste is one of New Zealand's biggest waste & recycling companies.
It was great to work with another 100% New Zealand owned company who really cares about creating a cleaner, greener country.
Aside from the economic advantages of installing Dajen MH Limited solar powered lighting, Northland Waste has taken another step towards caring for the environment.
Using poles made specifically to suit the company's requirements, we installed our Talos Series I 30W lights, which produce 6,250 lumens into concrete blocks. This allows the lights to be moved around the site as required. Not something you can do with hardwired lights.

Hamilton Gardens
Client: Hamilton City Council
Lights: Talos Premium Series I 20W 3000K
With captivating landscapes, Hamilton Gardens is one of New Zealand's premium attractions. When they asked us to supply solar powered lights, we knew the Talos Series I would be perfect to enhance the picturesque environment.
